What I Brought Home From RISE

by Allen Corona

I just got back from RISE, Real Brokerage's annual event, and I came home with more notes than I know what to do with. Hours of sessions on storytelling, marketing, luxury listings, and AI. After sitting with all of it, the big lesson was simple: the agents who win long term are the ones who understand their clients first and then prove their value with real stories, not slogans.

I've been doing this for five years, and before that I spent seven years in the oil field with Halliburton. In both jobs, people didn't trust you because of what you said about yourself. They trusted you because of what they watched you do. RISE put that into a framework I can actually use, and I want to share the parts that will change how I work with you.

1. Every deal has a story worth telling

One session broke it down into three kinds of stories hiding in every transaction: the house, the client, and the deal. The house has history and character the photos don't capture. The client has a goal, a worry, or a big life change. The deal has a moment where something went sideways and judgment mattered.

The structure they taught is easy to remember: Normal, Explosion, New Normal. Where was the client starting from? What changed? Where did they end up, and what did it mean for them?

That hit me, because a "Just Sold" post tells you a fact. It doesn't tell you anything about how I work. From here on, when I share a closing, I want you to see the actual problem we solved and why it mattered to the people living it.

2. Show the work, don't just claim it

Every agent says they give great service, know the market, and negotiate hard. Those words are free. One of the best sessions at RISE was about replacing claims with proof, using a simple idea they called Show, Flow, Demo.

  • Show the evidence: a real review, a real timeline, a real result with the context behind it.
  • Flow through the process: prep, pricing, launch, feedback, negotiation, closing.
  • Demo the work: walk through how I actually compared homes to land on a price.

The other piece was honesty. A brokerage's results aren't my personal results, and a sale price isn't the same thing as what a seller walks away with. If I share a number, you'll know exactly what it means and where it came from.

3. Listen before you present

The luxury listing masterclass flipped the traditional listing appointment on its head. Instead of walking in with a 40 page presentation, you start by asking one question before you ever meet: what are the three most important things you want from the agent you hire?

Then you let the seller show you their home. What do you love most about living here? What would a buyer miss from the photos? What's been the biggest challenge? Those answers tell you how to market the house and what the seller actually cares about.

The line that stuck with me was "research is respect." If you're thinking about selling anywhere in Central Texas, expect me to show up prepared and spend the first part of our meeting listening, not pitching.

4. AI should buy time for people, not replace them

There was a lot of AI talk at RISE, and plenty of big promises. The part I agreed with most was simple: technology should handle the repetitive tasks so agents have more time for the work that matters, which is talking to clients and solving problems.

I already use AI to help organize research and draft content. But every fact, every number, and every word that goes out with my name on it gets checked by me. A tool can draft a market update. It can't sit at your kitchen table and figure out what you actually need.

What this means if you work with me

You'll see more real stories from me and fewer generic posts. You'll get straight answers backed by real numbers. And whether you're buying, selling, or investing, our first conversation will be about what matters to you before I ever talk about what I do.

If you're thinking about a move anywhere in Central Texas, from New Braunfels to San Antonio and beyond, I'd love to hear your story first. Call or text me at (956) 489-9752 or email allensellstx@gmail.com.
